Cincinnati Bengals Locker Room and Gym
The second annual Pink Out at Paul Brown Stadium in memory of Sharon Thomas was a huge success. On Friday, March 5, 2010 we hosted a party in the Bengals locker room and gym to raise money for the Sharon Thomas Memorial Scholarship. The night included heavy appetizers, drinks and entertainment along with a Chinese raffle and Live auction.
We would like to thank all of the wonderful people that made this event possible. Because of your hard work we will be able to continue the Sharon Thomas Memorial Scholarship fund and send a deserving student from the Cincinnati area to college.
The Sharon Thomas Memorial Scholarship fund was set up to honor our late executive director who started the MLCF, Sharon Thomas. Candidates must be a child of a single parent family, write a 1,000 word essay explaining why they deserve the scholarship, meet minimum criteria of a 2.25 GPA, proven commitment to the community, financial need and have a varsity letter in any sport. In 2009, Nevin Heard of
St.
Xavier
High School was the first candidate to receive a $30,000 college scholarship. He is now attending
Morehouse
University majoring in Biology/Psychology.
